"Autumn seemed to arrive suddenly that year. The morning of the first September was crisp and golden as an apple.”
-J.K. Rowling
This time of year, the days and weeks seem shorter. Kids are back to school, schedules quickly fill, and everyone seems to move faster.
And of course, fall brings big Library and Library Foundation events. We’re thrilled and awed that Verse & Vino is nearly at capacity already, and our team is planning an evening this community will long remember. You’ll want to be IN THE ROOM for this one – if you don’t have tickets yet, please don’t wait to reserve your seat.
EpicFest planning is underway as well, and this year will include twelve authors and illustrators for children and young adults. The Library will celebrate the reopening of the North County Regional location in October, and renovations at South County Regional are scheduled to begin in November.
One of this year's Verse & Vino authors, Ross Gay, reminds us in his Book of Delights to slow down and appreciate the joy in daily life. Even with all the hustle and bustle of this time of year, my greatest pleasure is seeing and hearing everyday stories of our Library's impact: for caregivers preparing young children for a lifetime of literacy, for kids seeking positive mentors, for teens preparing for college or career, for adults seeking community, connection, lifelong learning and so much more.
Thank you for your support, for keeping the Library growing and busy, and for investing in our mission to improve lives and build a stronger community...even on the busiest of days.
Warmly,
Jenni Gaisbauer, CFRE Executive Director, Library Foundation
