Anniversary

Hello ,

This week marked an anniversary. One year ago our Library closed to the public because of COVID-19.

We quickly reopened with adjusted services and realigned priorities. Throughout a year when people everywhere were looking for support and hope, your Library continued to adapt and to be there for this community. I’m proud to be a part of this organization, and grateful to you for your unwavering support, financial and otherwise.

When our CEO Lee Keesler announced six months ago that he’d be retiring from the Library at the end of March, spring felt a long way off. Saying goodbye to a leader who exemplifies the very best in a public servant – and personally has been not only a boss but a mentor and a friend – is bittersweet. We wish Lee only joy and many rounds of golf in his well-deserved retirement, and I’m so glad to know that he’ll remain actively involved in The CommonSpark campaign as a volunteer, and his wise counsel is always a phone call away.

Good things are on the horizon. The days are longer and warmer and we’re all getting out more often. I hope you’ll plant a Bookmark the Town yard sign in time for National Library Week and use it as an opportunity to connect over books with a neighbor.

Looking forward to a great year ahead, together.
