Hello ,
As we prepare to close out this fiscal year, I’ve been thinking about summers past, and how this year is different.
Summer is traditionally a season to slow down – it’s a break from school, a more subtle change of pace at work. A time to take a breath, reconnect and enjoy the longer days, good weather and activities that feed our souls.
In some ways, the pandemic was a collective break that made us all reconsider how we spend our time. A colleague recently compared it to a “fallow year,” when farmers let the soil rest and replenish to become fertile again.
Now, we face an exciting summer of possibility. We’re all emerging from the fallow year to dual realities. We’re working both virtually and in-person and discovering the benefits to our community of making Library programs and services available in both formats.
I think balance is the key as we create a new normal. And through it all I hope we all also remember to take a moment, put our feet in the water and feed our souls.
Thank you, as always, for your support. We can't wait to see you this summer.

P.S. It’s not too late to make a gift in this fiscal year by June 30!
