Hello ,
Every year, fall is your Library Foundation’s busiest time – an exciting, energizing, exhilarating kind of busy. And this is the busiest fall yet…because we’re planning a November to Remember!
The eighth annual Verse & Vino is November 4, streaming live to celebrations large and small – we’re especially excited about the viewing party at Town Brewing Co, where we’ll host the live pre-show and launch a new beer supporting your Library. Join us - and an incredible lineup of five New York Times best-selling authors, plus a bonus debut author who wrote her first novel in a library.
This year only, we’re planning One for the Books, a free celebration of Main Library’s past, present and future on North Tryon Street. Meet us at Main November 6, 7, 13 or 14th for tours, an auction and sale of Main Library memorabilia, performances, activities for all ages, and more - or participate as a 24 Hours of Booky reader. We’re looking for volunteers to read for a few minutes in person or on video from their favorite books.
Of course, One for the Books is happening because Main Library is closing in a few weeks to make way for construction of the new Main Library – a technology-forward educational hub and dynamic uptown destination for everyone in our community for generations to come.
I can’t think of a better reason to be so busy. Thank you, as always, for your support. I hope we’ll see you in November.
