NOVEMBER E-NEWS
“Libraries are real and living things; we are grateful for
the good work libraries do.”
- New York Times bestselling author of The Red Bandanna Tom Rinaldi, at Verse
& Vino 2016
In
a span of 72 hours at Verse & Vino
and EpicFest, our community came together to celebrate the joy and importance of libraries. In this moment of national transition, I believe libraries have a critical role in creating safe, neutral spaces for people from all walks of life.
Libraries
are responsive and inclusive, and our Library will continue to address the
changing needs of our community through free access to information. Our Library is a hub of democracy: welcoming, free and open to anyone curious to explore ideas, new perspectives, and build a stronger community.
As I listened to these ideas spoken by our Verse & Vino co-chairs Katie Morris and Charles Thomas, I
couldn’t be more proud to be a part of this Library, where we truly do build
hope for the future.
Thank you for your commitment to your Charlotte Mecklenburg Library,
Jenni Gaisbauer, CFRE
Executive Director
