"There are two kinds of writers: plotters and pantsers. I fly by the seat of my pants."
- Kimmery Martin, Library Foundation supporter and recently published author of The Queen of Hearts
Last week, as Kimmery Martin's debut novel hit bookstores, she described years of persistence and revisions as "the longest pregnancy in the world." To the packed room at Morrison Regional Library, this didn't sound like a pantser.
Perhaps Kimmery feels unprepared because she's doing something new, sharing her writing with a world of readers. She's facing personal exposure. But she IS prepared.
At a recent Main Library town hall, a community member noted that change requires study, and advised us to go slow to go fast. That's exactly what we are doing.
As your Library stands at the cusp of transformation, we are cushioned by a combination of planning, research, and confidence in our mission. We're plotters too - and it's inspiring work.
Thank you, as always for your trust and support. We look forward to building a stronger, more connected community together.
Warmly,
Jenni Gaisbauer, CFRE
