"A library is a collection of possible futures."
- John Barth, writer
I'm humbled and awed.
Articulate, passionate students throughout the country are determined to effect change. Their courage, composure and confidence in a better tomorrow are inspiring.
This month's installment of Final Draught featured Women Changing Charlotte, and panelists spoke about their visions for a more collaborative, creative, compassionate city. They shared stories of courage, overcoming stereotypes, learning from mistakes and the importance of mentors and role models - for women and for everyone. And they talked about libraries.
Your Library's mission of improving lives and building a stronger community has never been more critical. As Final Draught panelist noted, "Libraries are symbols of democracy."
The Library is for all because anyone - or everyone - can initiate change. Thank you, as always, for your investment in our Library and in our community's shared future.
Warmly,
Jenni Gaisbauer, CFRE
