Numbers Tell the Story

Hello ,

Here at your Library Foundation, we’re thankful every day for this community’s generosity. In this strange year, we weren’t sure what to expect on Giving Tuesday, but the numbers tell the story.

Since its creation in 2012, Giving Tuesday has become a global movement of grassroots fundraising. And this year – despite a global pandemic, high unemployment, civic unrest and political division – was unprecedented in a positive way: worldwide, participation was up 29% and donations up 25% over last year.

At the Library, we’ve exceeded those trends. Donations doubled those of last year, and participation tripled to 170 donors, more than any previous year. In total, you gave over $19,000 in a single day, plus a $3,000 match from Neighboring Concepts. As the leader of a non-profit organization, I’m encouraged and humbled by your philanthropic spirit and endorsement of the work your Library is doing.

Thank you for investing in improving lives and building a stronger community, together.

In gratitude,
